“What would you say you do here?”
This is the seminal line of Mike Judge’s classic movie Office Space that has permeated American culture from its release. The line has become synonymous with the film itself but has now become the dreaded question that career federal employees do not want to hear – and will call for criminal investigation over.
Unfortunately, this Office Space sequel occurred at the highest levels of law enforcement. A recently released email by the Senate Judiciary Committee revealed that, instead of explaining what he does all day on his taxpayer funded salary, FBI agent Kevin Gounaud wanted to sue then-DOGE czar Elon Musk for even asking. Gounaud replied to an email from fellow FBI agent Steven Dunn to recommend “the opening of a criminal 58 matter on the person(s) at OPM who approved the transmission” of an earlier human relations email.
