The Trump administration on Thursday implemented Schedule Policy/Career, the successor to the Schedule F policy from the first Trump administration.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On February 5, the Trump administration announced the implementation of Schedule Policy/Career, a rule that would make it easier for executive branch leadership to discipline or remove career officials who attempt to thwart or undermine the objectives of the incumbent administration. The rule is a successor to the Schedule F policy implemented by the first Trump administration.
In corporate America, a person will be fired if they don’t do their job or, worse, take actions that damage the company. The same approach should be taken by the federal government for its employees. The new rule will help ensure our federal workers advance policies the American people voted for.
A draft of this policy was leaked last year, serving as evidence of the necessity of this type of civil service reform. Today, American citizens are finally seeing the federal government make a move in the right direction to keep our government working for our nation.
Quote from Democracy Restored Director Houston Keene:
“Today’s new rule is an important step toward accountability for our federal workers who have enjoyed a lack of accountability for far too long. This new policy will help ensure that our federal workers work for We, the People, instead of special interests or their own personal ideology. Democracy Restored looks forward to seeing how this policy impacts our representative republic.”
